Licensing is an integral part of software-use. This page will detail what is allowed and what is not allowed for each type of license.
The following table is an overview of what is allowed and what is not allowed - key differences between Regular and Extended.
Regular |
Extended |
|
---|---|---|
Number of end products | 1 | 1 |
Use in a single end product | ||
Use in a free end product (more than one end user allowed) |
||
Use in an end product that's sold (eg. SaaS or 'Software as a Service'). |
The Regular License grants you, the purchaser, an ongoing, non-exclusive, worldwide license to make use of the digital work (Item) you have selected. Under this license, you cannot charge your customers to use the service you provide them via the software. This means no SaaS (Software as a Service) allowed. Your customers must be able to access your site for free. To be able to charge your customers, you will need the Extended license.
The Extended License grants you, the purchaser, an ongoing, non-exclusive, worldwide license to make use of the digital work (Item) you have selected. Under this license, you are allowed to charge your customers to use the service you provide them via the software. This means SaaS (Software as a Service) is allowed.
